Respite Care

In 2009 a further extension was added to Yoakley House to create 5 new en-suite rooms. These provide short term care of up to 6 weeks for those who normally manage at home but need assistance in the short term. This may be because they are rehabilitating after a fall, a hospital stay or an illness, or so that family members of friends who normally care for them can take a break.

The Charity achieves the highest standards of care, with regular good rating from the Care Quality Commission.

The respite rooms were built in response to a recognised need in the local community, which has a percentage of elderly people in its population. They have proved a very popular service, with many residents returning for a second or third stay.

We are very grateful to the Rotary Club of Thanet who generously funded the purchase of new equipment including 2 hoists for our respite rooms. Fees chargeable are based upon the level of care and support the individual requires. Please see a general guide here.

If an older person you know would benefit from respite care, please contact us.
