Residential Care

Yoakley House Residential Care Home was built in 1980. The aim was to provide full personal care for almshouse residents who could no longer look after themselves independently, without them having to leave their friends in the Drapers community. Almshouse residents continue to take priority for a place in Yoakley House when the need arises. There has however been a shift in government policy in recent years with the current aim being to keep residents in their own homes for as long as possible. This has meant that Yoakley House is now able to offer residential care places to those in need in the wider community.

The Charity achieves the highest standards of care, with regular good rating from the Care Quality Commission. http://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-112111793.

Yoakley House is built all on one level and has 31 rooms all with en-suite toilet facilities, 3 of which are designated for respite care. Full personal care is available and the Charity is proud to be regarded as providing a good service by the Care Quality Commission.
A full and varied programme of activities is laid on at Yoakley House open to both Yoakley House and the almshouse residents. These include games afternoons, church services, musical entertainers, quizzes, exercise classes. Annual events such as the Summer Fair and the Garden Party give opportunity for friends and relatives to come and appreciate the beautiful gardens.

At present there is a waiting list for permanent residential care at Yoakley House. Fees chargeable are based upon the level of care and support the individual requires. As a general guide this starts at £903 per week (2023). If you or someone you know would be interested in being considered for a place, please contact us.

Yoakley House prides itself on keeping our residents for lifelong care as long as their needs can be fully met here in our family environment. Yoakley is exceptional at the provision of end of life care.
